My new favorite song is over a year old. Though the official music video has around 48,316 views on YouTube, I have neither heard it on the radio or seen it on any blogs I read. This baffles me! The track alone has potential to become a viral novelty hit, and the highly-animated (though not literally animated) video only serves to help its case.
Courtni Starr‘s “Charlie Brown Teacher” is exactly what you think it is. The chorus references the classic “whomp whomp whomp” sound from the Peanuts cartoons, as Starr responds to a club-going suitor who’s “all in her ear like Charlie Brown teacher”. It’s a simple schtick that should have been done before. Yet, to my knowledge, this is the first time anyone’s crafted a whole song around this slightly-dated-but-universally-adored slice of pop culture.
Given her energetic flow and occasionally zany expressions, Starr is sure to gain comparisons to hip-hop’s current darling Nicki Minaj. However, I’d argue that she’s more akin to Missy Elliot or similar artists who paved the way for Minaj’s over-the-top antics.
::sigh::
I’ve spent way too much time talking about a female rapper, when most of you just come here for the dicks. Oh well. I guess I’ll go write about some dicks.

Dewitt’s right. Stylistically, she is far closer to Missy than Minaj.
The video was a little 2002 high school class project-ish, but the song is fun and cute. And yes, creative props for turning the Charlie Brown teacher voice into a pop culture reference!
Cute song, her flow reminds me of Eve though.
Yaaaaaa! Get it girl.
That was cute. I agree with Cortez, the flow was totally reminiscent of Eve.
