When news that Simon Cowell would be abandoning American Idol hit the net, those who watched the show were left with one big question–who's evil enough to fill his shoes? If TMZ's sources can be believed, the answer may be none other than Sir Elton John. According to a spy on the set, the sixty-two year-old rock legend remains the producers' first pick.
Elton's interest in the position is currently unknown, and it's not even certain whether he knows about the potential offer yet. After serving as a judge on the third season of Idol, he seems like a pretty decent pick to replace Simon. He obviously knows a lot about music, he's British and he can occasionally be an asshole. How gay would it be if Elton and Ellen were sitting at the same judging table? And by gay, I mean totally awesome.
