Coming Out Month: “THIS IS YOUR FAGGOT SON”

If you think the title is intense, wait until you read the full story! Our jaws fell to the floor as we scrolled through this submission for Coming Out Month. Previous entries have confirmed what we already know—coming out is not easy—but this one takes that sentiment and multiplies it by thirty billion.

Don’t look so sad, buddy! You haven’t even started reading! Plus, there’s a sense of hope and inner strength that seeps in toward the end. This Manhunt member’s unique (and utterly horrible) experience proves that even if coming out isn’t on your own terms, it can still be pretty liberating.

EDITOR’S NOTE: There was some logic behind introducing this story with a pic of Christian Sharp ramming Andrew Jakk up the ass. I’ll get back to you when I remember what that logic was (if I’m not too busy re-reading this story and crying to myself in a corner).

I knew I was gay since I was six years old. Coming from a Christian background, I didn’t want to come “OUT” to my family or friends.

I was in a relationship with a married man who was separated from his wife. He made me feel alive. I began to actually live for the first time in my life, because he made me feel like I was special.

Unfortunately, he pined away for a guy he had met at the beach that his friends told him to go hook up with. The other guy came into his life when his relationship had ended. He would leave when another one had started.

The married guy told me that he loved me and asked me to move in with him. We both agreed it was best to sell my home.

By this time, the guy from the beach came back into the picture, and he underhandedly undermined our relationship to the point where I was being kicked out of the house. I had no place to live but with my folks in Florida. I even received an email from the guy from the beach that read, “I hope it’s a one way ticket with no return”.

At some point, I returned back to my home state to try and see if I still had a chance.

I didn’t.

Him and his boyfriend were at a bar that we called our own. I was there hanging out with friends, and one of them mentioned that he was there. The boyfriend kept walking by, giving me the finger and gloating over his “victory”. I told him to tell his boyfriend to knock it off. We got into a scuffle, and I had to leave the bar.

The next day, he called my bud’s home and told me to get all of my belongings out of his house. When I got there, all of my belongings were on his porch. I had to take it all up to my sister’s home.

Once again, I had left for Florida. This time, it was to be for good.

Upon returning to my folks’ home, my mother waited for me at the door. We sat down in the kitchen. She asked me which side of the fence I was on.

I asked, “What do you mean?”

She showed me an e-mail on her computer from the married guy, including naked pics of us in a compromising postions. There was nothing written in the body except the words,”THIS IS YOUR FAGGOT SON”.

I too was in shock.

These were from a folder, on my computer. He hacked into my computer and sent that. He even sent them to everyone on my e-mail list. Consequently, I was thrown out of my folks’ home, with no choice but to head back to my home town.

In a way, I felt liberated.

He had done me a favor and done something I didn’t have the guts to do. I started living my life as a gay man. I didn’t want to go back into the closet. While it damaged my relationship with my entire family, I’m okay with my sexuality now. I know who I am. I love being me.

A year later, I met a wonderful guy. We both enjoy living as open, gay men.

Right now, we’re separated, because he has issues to work out. I’m hoping he’ll be back one day.

Still, I am a free man. A free gay man.

  1. Sounds like the married guy and the guy from the beach really deserve each other. What a bunch of pricks. Who does shit like that, anyway? I am sure karma will bite them both in the butt and they will probably eat each other alive with their own ugliness. You deserve better, buddy. hang in there and I hope your new relationship works out.

  2. No wonder the married guy was separated. I agree with “graphicjack” karma will get them both, so good riddance. I am very proud of you as it took great courage to be turned away by so many, yet you have gone on to be a free gay man. Kudos.

  3. Sorry your ride was so rough, but you’ve made it to the right place. I too hope that your relationship works out, but don’t forget to make and surround yourself with lasting friends. For many of us gay men, they become our real families. Best of luck, buddy.
