Coco Morier sounds like Bats for Lashes. Coco Morier also acted as co-writer for Britney Spears‘ “How I Roll” and Sky Ferreira‘s “99 Tears”, two of my favorite pop tracks from the past few years. This combination simultaneously makes all the sense in the world and doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. That said, I choose to accept it while listening to her new single “Ambulance”.
Admittedly, this song falls a bit flat for me. While it dabbles in an oh-so-familiar (and wonderful) territory of indie-pop darkness, there just isn’t that extra “oomph” that makes me want to press repeat… But perhaps you’ll feel differently? If so, you can grab a free download of “Ambulance” here.

Also, this song was written for Sky Ferreria’s 2010 album before it got scrapped entirely. Sounds so much like Bat For Lashes, though.
Dewitt, this song is rad. Kind of ethereal and just awesome. great recommendation! This is unrelated, but you HAVE to look into Youth Lagoon if you haven’t already. I defy you to find a song on his album that isn’t amazing.
