Chubs With iPhones

bears, cubs, chubs, Guys with iPhones, gay internet, hairy, chubby, love handles, man boobs, extra padding, more to love, self-portrait, camera phone, mirror pic, hooking up

Did I miss some memo that today is chub day on Guys With iPhones? Every time I checked the site this morning, it seemed like it was love-handle central. Hell, I'm not complaining at all. You know very well that I'll gladly embrace a little belly or extra padding. It's just weird that it's all being put on the site at one time! Did anyone else notice this?

  1. There is chubby and then there is fatty,
    these guys have crossed
the line ages ago. Urgent subscriptions to fat camp are needed in some of their cases. I’m surprised,
some of them managed to get away from the fridge long enough to take these photos.
Golden rule in life: never trust a guy that
will eat you out of house and home

  2. The way a relationship will play out with one of these guys,
After sex: he wants to eat
Before sex: he wants to eat
During sex: he wants to eat
Conclusion: he just wants to eat.
Note to self: stay far away from men who just want to eat.

  3. Wow…Alex…just…wow. How ignorant can you get?
I’m guessing that if your selections in the past from guys w/ iPhones is any indication of the guy normally found on there, they probably got alot of flack from guys who do indeed appreciate seeing a little bit of chub on their guys!

  4. That chub in the first panel, second picture,
looks like he can pack a mega punch and eat a mega lunch.
    Lord have mercy,
he’d actually be quite good looking if he cut down on his favorite hobby, no prizes for guessing what that is.

  5. I noticed that too. I get GWiP in my RSS reader and it definitely stood out that today was bear and cub day. And, although hairy jocks with huge cocks is my normal favorite style of pic, I was glad to see these pics today. It’s important to keep it real. One of the most endearing parts of the site is that it’s real dudes, not just perfectly sculpted pornbot models. I would probably start to get suspicious if it was only twinks and jocks on there 24/7. Glad to have some diversity, because we are a diverse culture of sexy gay homos!

  6. People that are overweight (even frankly obese) will do a -lot- to rationalize and justify their behavior, including but not limited to frank denial of any issue with their habitus. I’m never surprised when “the culture” lashes out against fat guys since they are so far removed from the aesthetic-standard-that-has-been-mapped-out-for-us … but … I am equally never surprised when some fat guy snaps back with “how ignorant can you get?”
What does ignorance have to do with calling out obesity?

  7. Calm down Matty and go have a sandwich. A litte chub. In some of those guys its A LOT chub.
    First panel, first picture,
the stomach is taking up most of the picture, nothing left for the face.
Too much of anything is bad for one, some of these guys look like no piece of food that sits on a table, is in a fridge or sits on a public bench in a park is ever left untouched.
    Overindulgence and no self control.
Its never a bad thing to try to say “no thank you” when one has already had five helpings

  8. Just to clarify, I don’t mean all the guys up there.
Some of them are victims of overindulgence and the words “no thank you” never crossing those lips, but plenty of other things of course do.
I don’t want perfect bodies but obesity is a life threatening condition.

  9. Um, okay, do you actually KNOW any overweight people? Yeah, there are plenty of overweight people who are addicted to food, but at the same time there are plenty of overweight people who have fucked up metabolisms from yo yo dieting or uneven blood insulin levels. These things are not caused by sitting and eating all day long like you seem to think, and before you start saying that this is just an excuse, do a little bit of research. Most nutritionists agree that there is more to obesity than simple overeating. But seriously, as a formerly obese person, I have to say, you probably eat a ton more food than I do, or did, but years of dieting and family history really fucked with my metabolism.

  10. Matty, Matty, Matty,
yes there are some people that have metabolism problems
but then for some others the only problem is that “problems with metabolism”
    to them,
means that their bodies don’t burn the food quickly enough,
therefore their hand-in-packet-dorrito-in-mouth speed is never quite as fast as they’d like it to be.

  11. I find it riveting that people who subscribe to a “get-fucked-now” site have any room to judge based on self control issues. If being overweight were as simple as “walking away from the refrigerator”…who wouldn’t be skinny? An addiction is an addiction rather it be food, alcohol, drugs, or SEX. Face it, we all have our vices. So, why not enjoy diversity rather than make someone feel bad about how they are at this moment…don’t we get that enough from society already?

  12. Alex, you are raising valid points (obesity is a major health condition) … then you add a snarky “hand-in-pocket-dorito-in-mouth” comment that shoots it right out of the saddle. You can keep it real without being mean-spirited.
I’m a big guy who was a bigger guy (lost 35 lbs so far and still working) and I know that some habits are hard to break, and my genetics mean I gotta really toe the line for very limited gains. I used to be very self-conscious, and wouldn’t go to the gym for fear of not fitting in. Fortunately, I got over myself and found out that the gyms I have joined dislike judgmental types (as your “jokes” seem to paint you, regardless of intent) as much as I do.

  13. I think its funny that you guys are trying to justify being douche bags about fat people by pointing out their “overindulgent” tendencies. At the end of the day, you don’t want to fuck them! That’s why you’re talking shit.which is fine, just don’t try to make it seem like you’re taking som higher moral stance. So let’s not pretend we’re disgusted with their diabetes, heart disease or lack of will power. Let’s be real guys

  14. @WestAtlBear
Well you clearly have self control and a great deal of courage.
However, I do know some people that don’t ever attempt to curb themselves.
Not all of the guys in those pictures are problematic.
There is nothing wrong with being chunky and having a bigger build, no I don’t want sculpted bodies or anorexics.
But the first two guys are definitely overweight and its not healthy for people that are so young to be that overweight.
Its not about attracting a man or being super skinny, its about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and an ideal body weight.

  15. Actually, matty…obesity isn’t caused by “fucked up metabolisms from […] uneven blood insulin levels.” Obesity CAUSES them. I won’t go into body’s insulin resistance on a metabolic level b/c it gets confusing.
The problem with a majority of obese people lies not in their genetics…but their environments. A lot of people cop out and say they are fat due to their genetics without taking a closer look around themselves. What did your parents feed you when you were a child? Were you able to eat candy and sodas all the time? Is this something your parents ate all the time? Or were they more focused on getting a well-rounded diet?
It basically comes down to calorie intake and calorie expenditure. Diet and exercise.
It makes me so mad to see people at the grocery store riding around in wheelchairs and having to use an oxygen tank when they have bags of chips, cookies, and tons of soft drinks in their shopping carts. Put down the Mountain Dew, spit out the Oreo, and go on a walk.

  16. What a bunch of bigoted fucks there are on this site! You’ve just thrown gay “pride” out the window and shown that you are no better than the “straights” who have oppressed us all of our lives. Do you realize that the Stonewall Riots were a bunch of “fat”, “old”, “drag queens”? Grow up and join the human race. With attitudes like yours you will be alone looking for hook ups for the rest of your lives, and trust me, one day you will be fat, old and uglier than your personalities already are!!!

  17. Can’t we all just get along?
I’ve always been told if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Obviously, not everybody learned that. Just sayin’
Oh yeah, and opinions are like assholes. I just choose not to be one…most of the time.

  18. 1 and 2 are a little too heavy for me. 3 actually looks just as heavy, but somehow pulls it off. 5 is a little too skinny, muscle-wise. The rest (including 3) are all hot.
I’m not even gonna comment on the discussion.

  19. why is this asshole getting so much attenion….if u don’t like what your looking at…..turn the page man…..

  20. some of you guys are just a mess i eat once a day and am very much a chub … mine is definately not caused by over-eating mine was caused by a car accident that layed me up for three months in a neck brace and medications that have made me more than double in size … i was once a 140 pound lovely lookin guy (got pics to prove it) i am now a 260 pound (once 360) chubby/fatty whatever u queens may call it have lost just over 100 pounds all thanks to switching medications so try again people … some may have more issues that lay within that not many know about

  21. I am so glad that I am not the only one that noticed it. I have the pictures (and manhunt daily blog) through an RSS feeder and I saw all the pictures and was like what??? Kudos to these guys for having the courage to put pictures of them up, I surely couldn’t do it.

  22. It’s a turn-off?Well,I’m a bigger guy(6 ft 1 in tall,230 lbs,and I am from a family of diabetics and overweights).Though I used to weigh three hundred and ten pounds I have burned off a lot,and still am a big guy.Never seems to stop me from finding guys who wanna ride my ‘fat’ cock.So dont play with me,its OK,but dont hate.Your genetics do catch up with you,and some, sadly, have it tougher than others.Being judgemental is for straights. We oughta know better.

  23. (different Randy than the earlier comment, by the way)
Alex, you take the cake as ignorant (and probably svelte) know-it-all of the day. JT is a close second, but he doesn’t have it quite right in his statements. There are plenty of obese people (and yes, at 6′, 272, I am in that category)who are obese simply because of how and what they eat. However, there are a lot more, I think, that are obese simply because of a combination of medical conditions and the meds they take to control them. I have always believed that gays\lesbians\bisexuals\transgendered people have the LEAST right to be discriminatory because of conditions in other people that are not actually under those peoples’ control. Yes, many of the obese folks mentioned might be able to get into somewhat better shape by adjusting their diet, by exercising regularly, using the steps instead of elevators- but especially in my case, sometimes the exercise factor is taken out by problems with knees and hips, etc. I was doing well by exercising in a pool, until I contracted a cellulitus infection and was laid up for 6 weeks, OFF MY FEET. I have had some vein surgery to correct the problem that led to the infection, but the last 4 months have been basically exercise-free. I would love to be a 36 waist again (which I haven’t been since junior high, by the way)but just diet restrictions without exercise isn’t going to do it. No matter what some of you vicious queens say, sometimes it really isn’t so easy to get back into shape- as anyone over 35 knows. Funny how the pounds go on so easily, but the older you get, the harder they are to lose. We need to accept ourselves as we are and make the best of our positive points- and so do our bitchy detractors. I love a nicely muscled man with 6-pack abs, a bubble but, 20″ arms, who is hung like a horse- but never would I expect him to even pay attention to me if I met him. I went to a gay after hours club in LA in the mid 80’s, and was turned away because of the sign over the pay window warning that overweight people weren’t allowed. Bad enough being discriminated against because I was gay- but to get the same treatment from what were supposed to be my “peers” was the ultimate insult. “We’re all in this together”- or we SHOULD be- helping and encouraging each other, not cutting folks off at the knees because they aren’t Greek gods, or their current counterparts. Just remember, all you svelte, well-muscled boys out there- the older you get, the more gravity drags at you.

  24. OH for Petes sake…or Jesus Christ I cant believe it. Having been on both sides of the fat fence…and thinking I cant ever get laid again unless I lose 30 or 40 lbs…I just gotta tell ya boys…Its far better to have a beautiful soul than an outwardly twinkish muscular build with the personality of a wet rag. Its hard work and great art to develop both sides of this equation…I’m just happy my effort feed one thing and thats my soul. and yes..i stil have a gut on me. To those that matter…they dont care…to those I care for…it doesnt matter. to each his own i suppose.

  25. Amazing. I’m 22 years old. About 4 years ago, I believed I wasn’t ever going to get laid unless I lost all the weight and looked like a twink. Thankfully, I found the chub/chaser community. I couldn’t be happier about my size. Now, I’m not one to keep my weight (I’ve lost 20 lbs now) just to keep my man pleased. Either he loves me for me or he’s out the door. I do want to be healthier, but I don’t believe I have to be SKINNY to be healthy. And I still get laid, quite a bit!

  26. So fat is the new Gay, is it? I suppose bigots are just bigots not matter what their sexual preference is.

  27. I’m always surprised in our community how really horrible we can be with each other, over age, over weight, over race, even over education and income. I’m not so naive that writing about this will change it. For the twinks and the jocks enjoy it while you got it, stay off meth and alcohol and it will last longer but it will change. sooner or later you won’t be chicken meat and eventually jocks turn to stories of glory days. For overweight guys that have moved beyond bear, for most with some exceptions, you wont get what you want and need if you look like that.. its perhaps not fair, but its the reality. I’m sorry about some of the health issues that some face and the challenges that keep them from looking the way they want, but get over it, get with a doctor, find an approach the tools are out there. Check out the blood type diet, find an exercise that works, pilates, yoga, there are lots of alterantives. For the over the 40 gang things do change even when you look good. Even though gay men tend to think they will never be older than 25.. if we are lucky we get older, and hopefully wiser.
I do agree that I find it interesting critiquing the fat guys, when most of you want to get boinked and are on this site any hour or day or night to fill that “need” and will do it anyway no matter profile indicators. As someone that loves sex.. well I get it.., but cumming and fantasy are not the same as maintaining our humanity. HItler and possibly the relgious right in this country would have gassed all of us, fat or thin, gorgeous or plain, old or young.. so remember we are in together whether we want to be on the big gay boat or not. Everyone here likes dick.
Besides it has crossed my mind that maybe the fat guys are happiest.. the rest of us run around like mad to stay youthful and fit and.. the fact is some of the most handsome hottest men, I’ve had sex with have not been as happy as some of the plainer guys.. and sexually the plain eddys tend to be hotter in bed because they are not so self-aborbed, thinking about how it looks in a mirror.
Everyone has their types and dislikes but we need to figure out if there is a way to be constructive and keep our humanity even though the primary goal of this site is to make sure we can cum as often as we like.

  28. nice discussion!
this will definitely show up in the “most discussed” feature for next week..
..i like that this drew commentary, mostly, on everything but the article in question, itself.
as for my stance on the matter: i definitely agree with Randy, *technically.*
as members of the community that _does_ face much discrimination (collectively, probably second-most to Women), we really should, at least, make an *effort* to be more unified.
on the other hand: the reality is, often, all that we have in common with each other is, a liking of Dick.
(case in point? Log Cabin Repugantcans — they who willingly suckle the teat of They who, for the most part, basically don’t care too much for them.)
so, as ideal as it would be (at least in the “united” stated), that we’d not tear each other down, psychologically, much more than any average Gay Basher ever would care to, that likely won’t happen.

  29. Randy,
Thank you for calling me ignorant. I understand how medications cause weight gain. I was going to originally include that in my original post, but I decided against it.
However…you did not divulge any medical conditions that required you to take medicines when you were younger. Human bodies are not made to carry the amount of weight obese people have accumulated. This, I will assume, is what caused your hip and knee problems…as is the case with many obese people. Vein surgery due to cellulitis can be a result of obesity. Other complications of obesity…hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and the list goes on. Therefore, meds are required to treat these problems, and some of these meds result in weight gain. So…if meds aren’t going to help you lose the weight…what will? Ask any doctor…diet and exercise are the best ways.
Seeing that you were a size 36 in junior high shows that these problems have been going on for years. And, from the way you wrote your post, it seems like you just decided to start doing something about it, i.e. exercising in the pool. And, yes, for every decade you live, your basal metabolic rate drops about 5%…making it harder to lose weight as you age. I’m hoping you at least know what your basal metabolic rate is…otherwise, you shouldn’t be calling someone ignorant.
Finally, I used the example about the people with oxygen tanks to show what I was talking about…the people who are to the point that they can’t breath, much less walk…yet are doing nothing proactive to help save their own lives. Too many people want sympathy…too few people want to take responsibility for poor lifestyle choices and want to change. This is truth. Why do you think America now has a problem with childhood obesity? All of a sudden everyone’s genetics have mutated producing fat children? I think not. This is not ignorance. This is tough love.
I have a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health Promotion and have taken plenty of nutrition courses. I listen to this stuff every day.
    Go ahead…attack…

  30. I find it hilarious that you all are arguing about this.
Some people are fat, some are thin.
Just like some are stupid and some are smart.
If we were all the same, life would be boring.
If you believe that ALL fat people are fat because of overeating, you are ignorant and falling to a stereotype. The same stereotype that says that all gays are prancing queens who are excellent in fashion and interior design. Or the stereotype that we all have sex as much as we can with whomever, it doesnt matter. While it is true that some gays are sluts. Others are not. Some gays are good at fashion and interior design. Some are not.
Just like not all blacks are gang members, but because of a stereotype people think that. Women and Asians, as a whole, are terrible drivers. That is another stereotype that, while probably true of some women or asians, is not true for all.
So think before you characterize a whole group of people based on a stereotype.
For if you do characterize, you are no better then the people who feel that Gays do not need equal rights.
Do you really want to be part of that group of people?
    Spread Love, Not Hate Guys.
    Peace.
