After Zac Efron turned down the role, Chace Crawford was considered for the lead role in an upcoming Footloose remake. Now it's officially confirmed that Chacey will be playing the part of Ren McCormack in the flick. Hopefully they'll hire the same costume designer that he worked with for The Covenant.

They’re not ‘remaking’ it per say.. They’re shooting a film version of the Broadway musical. It worked for “The Producers” and “Hairspray.” Calm down, boys.
