Capital Cities: “Safe and Sound”

Although Los Angeles duo Capital Cities‘ “Safe and Sound” has been floating around since 2011, a new (and very fun!) music video was released yesterday afternoon. There’s a timeless nature to this track—largely thanks to the addictive synth line—that makes it okay for it to stick around so long. For better or worse, it’s finally starting to pick up steam on the US Alternative Songs charts, and it could very easily make a crossover to pop radio if given the chance.

The new clip finds the pair shimmying through various dances from decades past and bringing them together for one big party (or something like that). It’s fun, silly and perfect for a Friday morning. You should check it out if you aren’t already fed up with this song or the ridiculous label politics that have kept it under wraps for so long.
