Move over Christina Aguilera and Cher! Those two so-called divas may have thought they achieved a gay man’s wet dream with Burlesque, but there’s another unlikely duo that’s destined to steal their spotlight. That’s right, folks! Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton will be starring in a movie together.
The plot revolves around lesbian crime-fighting vampires with a prostitution business on the side. Just kidding! It’s actually about “two strong-minded women who are forced to work together to save a small town gospel choir after budget cuts threaten to shut them down.”
Basically, it’s like Sister Act without Whoopi Goldberg, nuns or the witness protection program. We’re loving the idea behind this, but it’s got us wondering–what will be the next musical film starring two gay icons? Our bets are placed on an epic hip-hopera starring Liza Minnelli and Britney Spears. Hey, at least it’d be better than Crossroads…

hmm… the plot sounds an awful lot like The Fighting Temptations that starred Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce’ (and a small role by the late Rue McClanahan).
