Today is Valentine’s Day, a bullshit holiday where even the sluttiest sluts realize they have hearts and can’t be satisfied by back room dick-sucking alone. While I hate to go all “soft” on all of you, I’d like to enlist the help of up-and-coming Australian pop singer Betty Who to remind you all that somebody out there loves you. It doesn’t matter how shitty, alone, fat, dumb, lazy or unattractive you feel today (or any other day, for that matter). Somebody, somewhere loves you.
Perhaps you’re already in a relationship or married to this person! Maybe you just met them within the past few months! Disgustingly saccharine message aside, Betty Who’s “Somebody Loves You” is an irresistibly catchy pop tune that’ll make you want to jazzercise in your underwear, whether you’re dancing alone or goofing around with the man (or woman) you love. The song embodies the euphoria you’d experience if Robyn made music that were more optimistic, yet Betty’s short-cut blond hair is sure to draw some comparisons to early ’90s Madonna.
Fun fact! She is six feet and two inches tall! An Amazonian princess of pure pop pleasure.
