Aural Only: The Ting Tings

Over the weekend, we received several requests to add The Ting Tings‘ “Hands” to our Weekly Top Ten countdown. While it’s not my favorite song in the world, I’m always willing to give into the desperate pleas of our readers. You just need to get down on your knees and beg hard enough…

In any case, this single acts as a first taste of the duo’s upcoming album Kunst, which is rumored to feature collaborations with Jay-Z and Rihanna. If this track is any indication, the project will definitely be a departure from the do-it-yourself aesthetic of their debut We Started Nothing. But will they ever be able to repeat the success of “Shut Up And Let Me Go” and “That’s Not My Name”?

  1. Great song. It’s nice to hear an 80’s sound again with bands like this, LaRoux, Hurts and Goldfrapp. Hmmm….they’re all English. Lol.

  2. I dug it, even if it was a pretty big departure from their first album…it’s definitely piqued my interest to know what the rest of the album’s gonna sound like though.

  3. I love the song and I hope that their aforementioned collaboration with Rihanna is real and they release it. This is one of those bands that deserve to have more hits in America.

  4. I hope this song catches on here. I am not sure why it wouldn’t. It has beats, rythm, and will be a big song on the dancefloor. It is already in the top 20 in Canada. It can’t all be Gaga and Kylie. Give this a chance boys!
