Aural Only: The Go! Team

Word of advice. If you ever plan on going to see a live performance by The Go! Team, we recommend bringing a pair of earplugs. Their sound is so loud and explosive that you won’t miss a thing, while also enabling yourself to walk away with all five senses intact (unless some douchebag hipster elbows you in both of your eyes and blinds you).

Today’s edition of Aural Only is different for several reasons. For starters, we’re not just focusing on one particular song. The reality of the matter? This British sextet can’t even be defined by a single track. One minute they’re getting you pumped on “Apollo Throwdown”, and then they’re cooling you down on tunes like “Ready To Go Steady”. It’s a nice balance overall.

You may also notice that this is unlike any other music we’ve featured on Manhunt Daily. It’s slightly noisy. Some might even call it abrasive. And, quite frankly, there’s no possible way you can compare this to Lady Gaga or Britney Spears. That may or may not be a challenge.

  1. So not only is there music awesome times, but their videos are too? HOT. Best Aural Only ever!

  2. Apollo Throwdown is a masterpiece.

The “retro-noise” production of the rest of the tracks is off-putting in general (although Super Triangle seems to work despite it.)

  3. The music itself is interesting, but I have a hard time understanding 99% of the words just casually listening to the songs.

  4. what about the black eyed peas new single for an aurel only entry: “just can’t get enough”

  5. Can I recommend “Alone Again” by Alyssa Reid for Aural Only? Great song – remember Heart’s “Alone”? This is an updated remix and gaining alot of attention.

I also 2nd Black Eyed Peas “Just Can’t Get Enough.”

  6. Not at all like Lady Gaga…but I did get a feel of The Ting Tings meets Vampire Weekend meets The Young Veins…

and that’s not a bad combo at all.
