Aural Only: Nabiha

Nabiha Bensouda, Deep Sleep, music video, Denmark, Copenhagen, import, pipes, personality, February 2010, debut album, Mali lullaby, quirky, funky

Have you heard of Nabiha Bensouda yet? She's an up-and-coming singer from Denmark, and I've really been feeling her funky style. Her debut album won't be out until February of next year, but a video for her lead single "Deep Sleep" was released back in September. The song's about nothing more than wanting to get some sleep, a refreshingly simple theme that we can all relate to.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to hearing more from Nabiha. She seems like she's got a great oddball personality and the pipes to back it all up. Can't wait to hear what the rest of her tunes will sound like!

this is the type of music that represents my culture well (diverse, ethnocentric, different, etc), i look forward to seeing this on my american tv screen.
speaking of UH-Mazing music; did we get ryan leslie/melanie fiona album reviews yet?

  2. I like this.
Sounds like what Jennifer Hudson would sound like if she had fun with her music and didn’t release bullshit 24/7!

  3. fun song. totally agree that could sound like Jennifer Hudson if Jennifer weren’t so uptight and serious all the time.
