Aural Only: Kelis

We’ll spare you a review of Kelis‘ new album Flesh Tone and just put it this way–it’s loud as fuck. From start to finish, it’s a non-stop dance party. This will be a pleasant surprise for fans of her previous electro dabbling, though you should probably avoid this if you’re the type who hounds your neighbors to “turn it down a notch”.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about the singer’s latest single “4th of July (Fireworks)”. While we’re not exactly sure what it has to do with good ol’ Independence Day, it’s a thumpin’ track that’ll undoubtedly get people on the dance floor. Just don’t blast it too loud at your barbecue. The neighbors might complain!
