We finally caved in and listened to James Blake. It’s not really clear why we’ve been holding off on the experience, given all the buzz flying around about this UK artist. His electronic compositions are sparse, haunting and quite beautiful. And if that’s not enough for you, he somehow managed to cover Joni Mitchell‘s “A Case of You” without totally butchering it.
The video for Blake’s second single “The Wilhelm Scream” premiered earlier this month, and we highly recommend checking it out. Well, we mostly just recommend checking out the song, since the majority of the music video involves blurry shots of the twink-tastic musician’s adorable face…

James Blake is amazing. His voice is pure sex, and he’s a fantastic producer. He’s gorgeous, too, and I highly doubt most of your readers will understand his genius. 🙁

Not sure how I felt about the song but sort of reminded me of Sam Sparro a little. I didn’t think he was so cute in the video either but just my opinion.

Not a fan of this song. Like his picture, super adorable, but I don’t like how how his mouth sits in the video. It’s…. off… Just my opinion, though. To each their own. 🙂
The Joni cover reminds me forcibly of Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons, just with a heaping helping of auto-tune for effect. Interesting :3
