I’m not going to act like I’m one of those diehard fans who’s been in to Goldfrapp since the beginning. To be quite honest, I didn’t even start paying attention to the British duo until their last album Seventh Tree. The mellow, downtempo vibe of that project entered my life at the perfect time, and I’ve been thankful for it ever since.
Based on the first single “Rocket”, I have high hopes for their upcoming album Head First. They’ve changed their sound yet again, opting for a “speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance”. In other words, they’ve taken the dance factor up a notch and thrown in a dash of ’80s flavor. I’m absolutely loving it! What do you think?
