Aural Only: Ellie Goulding

Better late than never, right? This March, UK songstress Ellie Goulding will finally release her debut LP on this side of the pond. The album will include three additional songs, where were also included on the Bright Lights UK re-release: “Animal”, “Lights” and her cover of Elton John‘s “Your Song”.

While “Lights” was originally scheduled as the lead single for Bright Lights, it was pushed back due to the inclusion of “Your Song” in the John Lewis holiday campaign. Now, it will serve as Goulding’s introduction to the US audience, as well as her sixth single overall. So, what do you think? Will America latch on to this track?

  1. Nice song to have in the background. I didn’t watch the video. I would buy her CD based on the two songs I have heard thus far.

  2. She’s SO wonderful. “Lights” is my favorite song of hers; the lyric is touching and her voice just soars.

I’ll be shocked if she debuts in the Top 100 though, honestly. She’s not a very “America-friendly” artist. 🙁
