How are we feeling about the new Alicia Keys single, "Doesn't Mean Anything"? To be completely honest, I don't think it's her best work. It sounds like a paint-by-numbers version of what an Alicia Keys song should sound like, to the point that it doesn't seem like she put her heart and soul into it.
I was never a huge Alicia Keys fan until I heard "No One" (which they played out far too much). The vocals on that song were so raw and powerful, and they forced you to really feel the emotions she was singing about. This toned down, polished version of Alicia just makes her seem slightly boring. This sounds like it could be anyone's song, which is a crime coming from someone who's so good at owning her own songs.
