Album Review: “The Quilt” Gym Class Heroes

Gym Class Heroes

After a long wait, Gym Class Heroes’ new CD “The Quilt” comes out today!
I’m a huge fan of the band and smokin’ lead singer Travis McCoy! This
new album has plenty of classic GCH bangers and rap anthems to get you going in
the morning or pumped up for a workout.

It
opens with “Guilty As Charged,” a fun poppy cut with great vocals from Estelle.
On the next track Patty Crash sings about a text message-obsessed fan on “DRNK
TXT Rmeo.”  You think they wrote this one
about me? I text more than I talk on my iPhone!

Urban-radio-god
The-Dream shines on “Ear Kissin” and “Cookie Jar,” the album’s first hit single
about Travis not being able to keep his hands out of the cookie jar. He can reach into my big ol’ Cookie Jar
anytime he likes!

My
personal favorite on The Quilt showcases Dre (of Cool & Dre) on “Don’t Tell
Me It’s Over,” a funky slice of piano pop-rock.

I
also liked “Catch Me If You Can”, “Coming Clean” and “Blinded by the Sun”
(featuring Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy.)

Whether
you’re a hardcore GCH fan or just into Rap/Urban/Rock, check out The Quilt.
