Album Review: Mike Posner

Disappointed that it’s been four years since Justin Timberlake released a new album? Then perhaps you should become acquainted with Mike Posner, a slightly forgettable alternative to the former Mouseketeer. His debut album 31 Minutes To Takeoff dropped this morning, and it’s highly recommended for folks who swear by the pop charts.

Although there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking about this collection of songs, it serves its intended purpose by representing the “current” sound that’s rocking radio stations. You might not hear any of these songs playing at a wedding ten years from now, but they’ll blasting from car windows until the summer comes to a close.

Of course, one has to wonder if he’ll last beyond this season or if (like the lyrics of the eighth track state) come September he’ll be gone. While it’s impossible to say at the moment, this shouldn’t stop you from enjoying his music right now. Get your hands on this album if you’re digging “Cooler Than Me”. There’s more where that came from.

  1. Wow! He has Justin’s looks (which drive me wild) and Rod Stewarts voice. A wonderfully SEXY combination!

  2. I like the guy’s voice, but I don’t think I’m runnin’ to Best Buy to pick up a copy any time soon. Probably a few more hit singles here though.

  3. He’s kinda hot. You should feature him on the Secret Sex section. Don’t care about his music though.
