Weekly Top Ten: Hasta La Vista, Britney

Where are all the crazy Britney Spears fans? They managed to keep "Radar" around way too long on our Weekly Top Ten, and now it seems like they've completely abandoned her. In just five weeks, "3" has been completely eliminated from our charts. Conspiracy? We'll let you make that decision.

Other than Brit, we'll be saying goodbye this week to Timbaland, Leona Lewis and Peaches. None of them have appeared on the charts more than once, so this kind of feels like a one night stand we'll easily forget about. But let's not forget about the ones who got away. Basement Jaxx, Roisin Murphy and Leighton Meester were all eliminated in our Wild Card round before they even had a chance.

If you're new to the Weekly Top Ten, we hope you brought some lube for the initiation process. Forgot it? Oh well, we can catch up on that later. Let's just get to the rules. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three moving to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

So how do you get your favorite song on the list? You could show up to my house in nothing but a jockstrap, but it might be easier to just leave a comment and suggest your tune for next week. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we're getting a good vibe... you might see it here next week!

1. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (LW - 1): Last weekend,  this song took the lead, despite not having a description. I could probably say anything in this space right now. Poodle rocket cock socket! This is like the time I wrote "vagina" into a history paper just to check if my teacher read it. He totally did.
2. Robbie Williams - Bodies (LW - 2): Robbie's continued presence on these charts indicates that more male artists could benefit from taking their clothes off. It probably helps that he's also absurdly hot. But let's not be so superficial! This song is actually quite good. 
3. Florence + The Machine - You've Got The Love (LW - 3): I'm still waiting for Florence Welch to creep a little higher, but I'd be perfectly happy if she peaked at number three. I can't even handle how talented she is. It's not just the voice; it's a total presence. She's the real deal!
4. Shakira - She Wolf (LW - 4): A-woo! It's been over fifteen weeks since Shakira made her debut. Do you think we need to consider a retirement plan? More importantly, was her bed-dancing hot enough to give "Did It Again" a chance next week?
5. Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone (LW - 10): While I'd like to pretend that Dragonette's On The Download feature gave them an extra push, I'm not entirely sure if that's the case. Either way, I'm ecstatic that they made it into the top five! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the second Wild Card selection to make the cut.
6. Rihanna - Russian Roulette (LW - 5): Well, we already saved Britney last week. Rihanna's latest single is just starting to pick up some momentum, so we're going to give it another chance. Do you think we should add on "Wait Your Turn" next week? Because I'm seriously considering it.
7. Lady Gaga - Alejandro (DEBUT): Yes, another Lady Gaga song. For the record, I'm establishing an unwritten policy that one artist can only have two songs on the Weekly Top Ten. Featured appearances are the exception. So if you want to see another Gaga song on here, you'll need to come together and let one of these two get voted off.
8. Ellie Goulding - Under The Sheets (DEBUT): This song has been growing on me a lot since we first posted it. I'll still need a little more evidence before I'd declare Goulding the "next big thing", but it seems more possible by the minute.
9. Aqua - My Mamma Said (WILD CARD): How did this song beat out "My Turn" in the Wild Card round? Though I'm really loving the female vocalist's contributions, I can't handle the deep-voiced "Come on Barbie, let's go party" guy. Seriously. 
10. Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment (DEBUT): We're giving this American Idol runner-up another chance. Even though a lot of you don't want to sleep with him, you might like his new single. It's more upbeat and fun than that "Time For Miracles" atrocity.

This week I want to suggest the current number 1 single in the UK by Cheryl Cole: "Fight for this love".

It takes 3 or 4 times before it grows on you, but the song is catchy, plus is the fastest selling single in the UK this year.

You can either check the album version or the Crazy Cousins Remix and see if Ms. Cole makes it to the chart sometime soon.

I can't say whether Ellie Goulding will be the next big thing but I definitely think she deserves to be. The tracks she has put out have been consistently amazing, interesting and full without being overproduced. And what a unique voice! I love her I'm so glad she's on here.

But props to Florence and Dragonette for being on here as well :)
